Proposal 18: 7C.5.1 Removing Scores and Judges [ Revision 1 ]

Committee: Freestyle Development Committee
Submitted on 2017-04-02
Status: Set-Aside (Reviewed from June 17, 2017 to June 23, 2017)

Background

Only one  score can change the ranking if it is very exceptional.
The riders work hard and deserve fair judging.
To provide fair judging we have to remove exceptional scores and in very striking cases also the judge.

Proposal

Old: 7C.5.1 Removing Scores

All of the judges scores must be kept. The Chief Judge has the power to remove scores

only if they are deemed to be biased, inaccurate, or another extreme case.

7C.5.1 Removing Scores and Judges

All of the judges scores must be kept. Exceptional scores that differ more than 5 % from the average of the other scores  are automatically removed.
When a judge's score differs more than 10 % from the average of the other scores, this judge is not allowed to judge freestyle for 365 days. IUF Freestyle committee keeps a list of names and dates of actual inhibitions and passes it to chief judges of freestyle events.

Body

Fair judging is very important for our sport and for the motivation of the riders.
Fair judging means consistent scoring.
To assure this, we have to remove exceptional scores and remove judges with very exceptional scores.
